Report: Daniels To Play 2014-2015 In Europe

Toronto Raptors second-round draft pick DeAndre Daniels won’t be playing north of the border in 2014-2015, instead finding himself overseas in Europe, according to the Toronto Sun.

Raptors general manager Masai Ujiri said that Daniels “will be stashed in Europe for a year to get some much-needed playing time.”

As is the case with second-round picks, an NBA roster is not guaranteed, and with the NBA Development League unable to contend with the financial opportunities presented by European clubs, more and more teams are exploring the option to, while still maintaining a players rights, export them overseas in order to fine-tune their game.

The lanky 6-foot-9-inch forward out of Los Angeles is averaging 19 minutes, 8.8 points and 4.3 rebounds, accompanied by a cumulative 32.7% shooting percentage, through the Raptors first 4 games in the Samsung Las Vegas Summer League.
