Rapid City Rush Re-Sign Sean Erickson

Sean Erickson has spent the past five seasons skating in the Central Hockey League, so it came as no surprise when the Rapid City Rush announced they had re-signed UConn’s former captain for the upcoming 2014-2015 season.

Erickson, a four-year player with the Huskies from 2005-2009, began last season with the Coventry Blaze of England’s Elite Ice Hockey League, before finding his way to Rapid City, South Dakota. With the Rush, Erickson played in 59 games and finished third among CHL defensemen in scoring (46 points).

Erickson has appeared in 304 career CHL games, 245 of which came during his time with the Tulsa Oilers – a franchise he ranks eighth in all-time scoring among defensemen, notching 128 points (39 goals and 89 assists) for an average of .52 points per game.
