After capping off an incredible run to a National Championship, it looks like DeAndre Daniels has finished his career at UConn
According to reports by Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, league sources say the 6-8 junior forward has declared for the NBA Draft. Daniels averaged 13.1 points and 6 rebounds for the Huskies this past season, but elevated his play in pivotal moments during the NCAA tournament, including 27 points and 10 against Iowa State in the Elite Eight, and 20 points and 10 rebounds in the Final Four versus Florida.
This is certainly a blow to UConn, who had all the pieces to repeat next season with Daniels in the fold. He was a hybrid forward who could battle with the bigs in the post, and also step out to the perimeter. He shot over 40 percent from three-point range last season.
Though Daniels will not be returning, Ryan Boatright will be, so make sure to grab your Uconn mens basketball tickets now for 2014-15!
