Ever since the Louisville Cardinals joined the Big East Conference in 2005 they have played the UConn Huskies at least once a year in basketball and even migrating over to the American Athletic Conference together. That however is about to change as this will be the final year where they are both in the same conference. Due to this fact it is fitting that these two teams would square off in the final game of the regular season for the final time. Louisville comes into the game as the defending NCAA National Champions having won the title in a hard fought victory over Michigan last season and the #11 ranked team in the country.
On the other hand #16 UConn enters the game once again back in the national spotlight having had two down years after winning the NCAA National Championship in 2011 experiencing a down year in 2012 and being academically ineligible to participate in the NCAA Tournament in 2013. This season the Huskies have played much better than years past led by their senior point guard Shabazz Napier who has seen the highs and lows of this program and put the team on his back this year leading the team in points rebounds and assists (18.1 ppg, 5.9 rpg, 5.3 apg).
When these two teams meet Saturday afternoon (2pm on CBS) it will be for the American Athletic Conference regular season championship and seeding in the AAC tournament as Louisville needs a win to wear the crown. If the Cardinals don’t win they would need Cincinnati to also lose their game against Rutgers. Regardless of who wins you can find Louisville vs UConn tickets for this game currently running around $87 on the secondary market after falling by 13% over the past seven days. If you’re looking for less expensive options you can Get-in to this game between #19 UConn and #11 Louisville for as little as $49.
